Record Aircraft (RA), born in 2017, is an ambitious project that is part of the current industrial and energy development. Its ultimate goal is to create a UAV entirely powered by solar energy.
The aircraft will be equipped with solar panels with virtually unlimited autonomy. The long-term goal is to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. In this academic year, the students will be at work on the construction of the first prototype aimed mainly at flight tests.
The images show some results of the CFD simulations on the complete RA project model, with the aim of analyzing the behavior of the aircraft in case of still air and accelerated flow.
